About this database

• Information on three types of emergency contraceptive (EC) pills, with different active ingredients, is available:
  
  • Pills with 1,5 mg of levonorgestrel (LNG)
  • Pills with 30 mg of ulipristal acetate (UPA)
  • Pills with 10 to 25 mg of mifepristone.
    
• Find the information you are looking for by searching by country, region, type of EC pill or brand.  
  
• The information on this site comes from numerous sources, including manufacturers, distributors, social marketing organizations, local experts and national regulatory agencies’ online databases.
  
• Prices of EC pills products in US$ are approximate, and are generated using an online currency converter in the month the information is provided.
  
• Information is provided on EC pills that are available in a given country at the time of data collection. We cannot ensure that the EC pills listed are actually procured and available at the time you consult the database, as markets are constantly changing.     
  
• There are many brands of EC in the world today. We have done our best to capture them all but we cannot guarantee that the list of EC pills available by country is exhaustive. Information on EC pills that are available for online sale has not been included.   
  
• If changes in availability are reported to us, this information will be validated and the website will be updated accordingly.
