#WCD2019: Emergency contraception is contraception
September 26, 2019. World Contraception Day
Having access to emergency contraception (EC) information and methods is a human right. When EC information and provision services are based on this notion:
- They do not discriminate anyone. Not because of socio-economic status, age, race, language, religion, disability status, or any other condition.
- They are available at the right place and the right time
- They are accessible: you can find them and you can afford them.
- They are acceptable to all; and that means, respectful of all.
- They are of the best quality possible: up to date with the medical evidence, and not expired.
- They facilitate informed decision-making: they help YOU decide what EC method is best any time you experience a contraceptive emergency.
- They guarantee your privacy and confidentiality.
Is this how access to EC looks like in your community? Help us find out here!
